After departing Cape Town, SH Diana heads deep into the South Atlantic toward Tristan da Cunha, widely regarded as the world’s most remote inhabited archipelago. Continuing south, the expedition reaches South Georgia, often described as the “Galápagos of the Poles.” This wildlife paradise is home to enormous king penguin colonies, elephant seals, fur seals and countless seabirds. Guests may visit historic Grytviken, the former whaling station where legendary explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton is buried, providing a powerful connection to the heroic age of Antarctic exploration.
The final stage of the voyage explores the spectacular Antarctic Peninsula.
